WRC - Facilities and Fees

Weymouth Rowing Club  

We offer these rowing facilities: 

• The best rowing waters on the South Coast. 
• Well-maintained Club gigs for use by all members; currently, 4 traditional wooden racing gigs and 3 GRP training gigs. 
• A purpose-built Boatshed for gig and equipment storage. 
• Qualified coaches provide training for all members at all ability levels, including 6- week induction and improver courses for new members. 
• A thriving competitive rowing section; our crews compete at Regattas around the South West during the summer racing season; Weymouth crews also compete in the annual World Gig Championships on the Isles of Scilly. 
• Active youth and junior sections. 
• An annual Weymouth Regatta and various intra-Club racing events.
• A full programme of recreational rowing sessions throughout the year.
• The support of fellow rowing members. 

We offer these onshore facilities at Weymouth Sailing Club: 

• A professionally run bar with a good selection of beers. 
• Galley facilities with appetising food at certain times 
• A Clubhouse in one of the most picturesque locations in Weymouth Harbour. 
• Free WiFi and computer points in the Clubroom. 
• Meeting/Training rooms.
• Shower and changing room facilities. 
• A full social programme throughout the year. 
• Summer storage for 2 racing gigs and their road trailers.
• RYA theory courses in navigation from Day Skipper to Yacht-master Ocean, as well as 1st Aid, all at subsidised prices. 
• RYA Powerboat and Safety Boat courses at discounted rates.
• Indoor rowing facilities (Concept 2s) for winter and bad weather training 

The Club welcomes new applications from people of any age and background and offers the following membership categories (with effect from 1st April 2024). 

• Adult - £240pa (with the option to pay £20.00 monthly).
• Youth - (age 16 to 21)  - £30.00pa
• Junior - (age 11 to 16)  - £15.00pa
• Day - £5.00 

Notes 

• We do not charge an entrance fee when joining our Club for the first time. 
• The renewal date for membership is the 1st April. 
• Members joining throughout the year pay proportionate fees.
